Aha!

I just discovered now that at the end of September, Victor Lombardi wrote a great article about Concept Design – “a missing step in our design process.” I find it particularly interesting because of the differences I’ve experienced in my roles as “Concept Designer” in Finland and “Information Architect” here in Canada. My experience here is limited to just over a year now, but I’ve found that, while my role in Finland was also to be the information architect in projects, it encompassed more concept design and wider co-operation between team members than I’ve been able to find here.
Lombardi’s article goes a bit deeper into tools and methodology than we did at digital ad agencies in Finland in our concept design work – our concept design was often quick and dirty because of project scope, timelines, etc, but it was still deeper than what I’ve experienced in my work here.
