Virtual City

September 21st, 2007 |  Published in Uncategorized

At the end of June I wrote about how Google Maps is adding street views of some US cities to its service, but that currently there’s no street view service for Toronto. Little did I know – a service called Virtual City has been online for a while now.

The site looks like a relatively simple Google Maps mashup, and the street view images are pretty small, but the site works fast and is easy to use. Cool. What I would add to the site is mobile services: when on the run, let me send Virtual City an SMS to look for the address and an image of a business, and then send it back to my cell phone as MMS.
