Snap, Snap, Everywhere, Snap

February 6th, 2007 |  Published in Marketing

I’m sure all of you have seen Snap already. At least you’ve seen the Snap preview widget in action on numerous blog sites, particularly those on WordPress and Typepad, even if you haven’t used Snap for searches yet or even figured out that Snap is a new search engine, not just the link preview thing you have seen.

The way that Snap has quickly got its brand spread out everywhere is, in my opinion, the most notable thing about it, although it’s a handy search tool as well. Can the quickly-growing Snap brand help them to beat Google‘s position as numero uno? The thing that made Google popular was its simplicity. Now Snap is trying to beat them not by making things even simpler, but by adding a couple features to the search process. Does that make it more powerful and therefore more useful, or just more complicated?
