Fullscreen P2P TV
January 26th, 2007 | Published in Uncategorized
Skype founders’ Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis project Joost (formerly called ‘The Venice Project’) promises fullscreen P2P TV, like Babelgum, which is loaded with several handy features in its UI. Both projects are now in beta testing, and Joost say it’s already expanded into a global venture employing more than 150 people.
While the content on the channels still consists of nothing much more than trailers or YouTube type flicks, I’m assuming it won’t be long until Google and others will set up their own similar solutions or take over these projects (well, that’s probably already planned/set up somewhere out there). Content owners and copyright associations will have to follow suit, and finally find more universal solutions and payment models to have their content available for consumers (who’ll get much of that content anyway) through these new channels of distribution.

I have over a decade of experience working in digital media, advertising, and digital and social product design first as graphic designer and art director, and then as concept designer - a role very similar to a creative director, but with a stronger focus on user experience design and marketing strategy. I've also worked as project manager, managing projects for clients like Nokia, the world's largest manufacturer of mobile phones. I have gained experience in three different countries on three different continents: Finland, The United Arab Emirates, and Canada. Currently, I work as a Senior Experience Architect at Organic, Inc in Toronto, Canada. I work together with other strategists, creative directors, writers, designers and developers to create experiences that deliver exceptional value to clients and their customers.
