Hold On, It’s Right Here Somewhere…

For Mac users, Delicious Library seems like quite a handy tool. It catalogs your movies, books, music and video games using barcodes – just point your webcam on the barcode of a product, and Delicious Library adds the product, info and a picture of the cover in the library.
According to the website, the program boasts all sorts of useful and/or cool features, like voice search (though I don’t know if you’d really need that?), Spotlight searching/dashboard widget and iPod sync, and it can give you recommendations based on what you already have in your library.
I think my own movie collection isn’t yet big enough so that I would really need a program like this, but I will probably try it at some point. The program will set you back 40 dollars, which I consider very reasonable, and if it works well it can really help you keep your shelves organised.
