Mapping Housing
November 22nd, 2006 | Published in Uncategorized
Craigslist is a popular website, started in the mid-90′s in San Francisco, that lists local classifieds and forums in numerous cities worldwide. It appeals to its users with its simple design and interface and common-sense, down-to-earth approach.
At Housingmaps.com, however, the original, super-simple Craigslist UI has been made a bit more visual. Housingmaps puts together Google Maps and housing ads from Craigslist, giving the user a chance to pick a city from the map (currently only US & Canada) and then pick a housing ad from the city map.
In Finland, Igglo does the same with its “karttahaku,” but somehow I like the simpler approach of Housingmaps better.
